Quizlet is a website/app to create online flashcards and interactive games (such as match, write, test, etc.) According to the Quizlet, it is the world's largest student and teacher online learning community; every month, over 50 million active learners from 130 countries practice and master more than 300 million study sets of content on every conceivable subject and topic. Their mission is to help students (and their teachers) practice and master whatever they are learning. Teachers can create class groups and students can play matching game with each other. I really like this feature because it motivates students to learn more and more. Also, it engages students in and out of the classroom, with interactive study material, learning activities and games.
Another cool thing about Quizlet is being able to create your own sets and study on your own (life long learners squad 😃).
Also, you can listen the pronunciations of the words. However, don't trust the pronunciations 100% because it can be wrong time to time!
I think we can use this in English language teaching. For example, when you give reading passage to the students, they can select words and create a studying set or you as a teacher, can create it for them to study before coming to the class. With the help of Quizlet, you can track student's progress and help them more efficiently. Over 90% of students who use Quizlet report higher grades.
I created a study set for you in order to show what is it look like 😃 You can click here to see.
You can also follow the Instagram account for Quizlet to explore more. 😊
